Polaris 850 Pro RMK Q&A Sesh

I heard the new 850 comes with 4-gram higher clutch weights. What does the higher clutch weight do? Is it a rev limiter on the engine to ensure peak attainable horsepower isn’t surpassed?

The clutch weights are used to match the power output of the engine to the shift curve of the clutches. More flyweight means the we are shifting the clutches into a higher gear faster. Being able to upshift faster is a product of having more horsepower. Just like in a car, all things being equal, you get through each gear faster when the engine is more powerful.
