2) Tuning. BoonDocker designs products that work. The turbo kits they sell are complete with all the tuning elements necessary to make the turbo you install on your snowmobile work exactly how it should. Once installed, you will not have to tinker around with your sled to make it run. When it comes to tuning, in past years there were more snowmobilers who tinkered with their engines, constantly tuning and adjusting things. But in recent years you have more snowmobilers who may not have a history in the sport and merely want an engine that works. They want something that is precisely tuned and consistently performs with no constant tinkering.
3) Electronics. There are varying opinions about piggyback controllers. BoonDocker recognizes that OEMs do an excellent job in engine tuning. However, a stock ECU doesn’t have the ability to read boost pressure. When you add a turbo, you need to be able to read boost to understand the fuel requirements. With the added fuel requirements of a turbo, the piggyback controllers are the most practical way to deliver precise fuel/timing changes that correlate to turbo activity. At elevation, there is less air so the ECUs tend to reduce the fuel flow. But with the turbo, you are putting more air into the engine and allowing the engine to make more power. The turbo will make the same amount of horsepower whether you are at 5,000 feet or 12,000 feet in elevation.
4) Pump Gas.
