Glove Box Extension

The first thing we did was to install the Glove Box Extension Kit (#860201249). If you are familiar with the new Ski-Doos, you know that the front storage compartment is only large enough to throw a pair of gloves inside. (And that’s the only storage built into the sled.)

The extension kit increases your storage volume to where you could actually stuff a jacket in the sled if necessary. But not only does it increase the size, it also provides a defacto windshield that will provide some upper body protection on those cold mornings.

The install consists of first removing the windshield and glove box lid, then removing two gauge support retaining screws to allow the glove box to be taken off the sled, then inserting a gasket and two screws to attach the extension kit to the glove box. Then stuffing it back in its place and re-inserting the two gauge support retaining screws, windshield and new larger lid.

We also added a Glove Box Liner (#860201270) during the process to increase the protection of any contents … so things wouldn’t rattle around in the plastic storage space.

The process took less that 30 minutes.
