Recreation Vs. Utility
Many traits (like the nimble Axys chassis, Fox QS3 shocks and adjustable ski stance) of the Titan will have you thinking it leans more to the side of being a recreational sled than the utility side of the equation but there are a few very noticeable things about the Titan that remind you of its utility roots.
First is the transmission shifter on the right side of the cowling. Another would be the beefy cargo area (officially called the Lock & Ride Versa Storage Platform) on the rear tunnel. And then there is the 1,200-pound towing capacity as well as the 20-inch wide Cobra track.
Interestingly enough, the 155-inch Cobra track on the Titan only has 1.8-inch deep lugs but with the 20-inch width, it handled the deep snow around West Yellowstone last winter surprisingly well. We did go through a little towing exercise during our Minnesota ride and the “deeper” lugs did provide some needed traction through the soft snow. It seems like a good track for the Titan.
