Garrett Miller succombed to Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 15 a year ago February.
In honor of Garrett's battle with CF, the Flatt Rock Inn Smoke on the Water watercross event, July 11 and 12, held a special memorial endurance challenge. Dubbed "Last Man Standing," 44 entrants were each given just one gallon of fuel. All 44 snowmobiles hit the water at the same time, and the last rider moving across the water wins the event. (Pete Cowen was last man standing, with runners-up Ron Dean, Eric Leinbach and Todd Vollmer.)
The event was designed to symbolize the struggles Miller faced in his battle with CF, forcing riders to pace themselves and overcome and navigate obstacles in their way.
Sled Junkies' Chris Pogge put together this edit capturing the Last Man Standing.
