This all new helmet is the result of desire to create and innovate the industry's best snowmobile helmet. The result is a helmet that is designed and built from the ground up with 4 ideals in mind: safety, performance, fit and style.
Featuring an innovative dual density interlocking EPS foam liner the Altitude helmet provides top crash protection and is certified to meet or exceed DOT and ECE 2205 safety standards. These high safety standards were achieved by the use of a specially designed thermoplastic poly alloy shell that offers maximum strength and minimal weight. To protect the rider from a front impact the Altitude uses a specially designed expanded polyurethane insert in the chin area.
In addition to its safety accolades, performance was a key focus during the development of the Altitude. Innovative aerodynamic channels are contoured into the helmet shell and direct air-flow into the specially designed vent scoops. These 6 low profile vent scoops provide the necessary air-flow to keep the rider comfortable when riding. Ventilation can be customized for temperature changes or rider preference with the removable VentStoppers inserts. And for those cold days the removable breath box and chin curtain can be installed for maximum protection from the elements. The unique aerodynamic visor features a locking top center mount that holds the visor in place and prevents unwanted visor movement. Each Altitude helmet also comes standard with an innovative GoPro® camera mount, that mounts securely in seconds to the top visor mount and eliminates the need to use poor performing adhesive based mounts.
The Altitude was designed with two key fit metrics in mind: rider fit and goggle fit. The custom interior EPS features a premium liner than is easily removable for cleaning. The 9 available sizes from Youth Small to Adult 2XL utilize 3 different sized outer shell molds. By using 3 mold sizes instead of the industry typical 2 molds sizes the Altitude is able to achieve a precise fit while minimizing overall helmet circumference. The neck brace ready contoured shell base provides a comfortable yet snug feel with unmatched fit and reduced helmet movement. Continuing and improving our world famous “509 helmet and goggle combo” fit the eyeport of the Altitude helmet was carefully crafted to fit 509 Sinister X5 and Aviator goggles perfectly. When used in combination the Altitude helmet and 509 goggles are designed and built to offer the absolute best fit and protection in the snowmobile industry.
