RydeFX, ArvinMeritor brand, announced that the RydeFX Air 2.0 springless shock absorbers will be available on an expanded level for select high performance Arctic Cat, Ski-Doo and Polaris snowmobiles for the coming season.
The RydeFX Air 2.0 comes in a kit that includes two ski shocks and a pump. The kit has a retail price of $692. Its innovative one-piece design includes a dual gas spring chamber that is equivalent to a dual or triple rate spring.
RydeFX Air 2.0 will be the original equipment front suspension shock absorbers on the 2009 Polaris IQ Turbo Dragon and 2009 Polaris Dragon Switchback snowmobiles.
The shock's first chamber allows for a plush initial stroke (1.25 inch) while the second chamber is designed for increased forces without affecting initial rate. The shocks are nitrogen charged versus air, which improves pressure stability over a broad range of temperatures and are lightweight, tipping the scales at one pound lighter than a traditional coil-over design.
