Transferring 7 s to standard gauge machine

I was told I couldn’t pull the 7s gauge on my boost machine and transfer gauges with a non 7s machine.
Is this true?

I did it yesterday, Both used 2022 matryx's, one boost one n.a. with standard guage. Both guages remember the km from the sled it came off of. The 7s worked on the n.a. but showed the v.i.n and mode of the boost, but was on the n.a. The fuel guage, rpm, temp, tracking, maps all worked though.
