Starter Problems with my Hawk

I´m from Germany and I bought after a long peroid of searching for, a 600 HO last sunday in Italy.Today my son and me had a first ride.When starting cold with choke,no problem,2-3 pulls and run.But in half-worm or worm condition,it is already unpossible to start the engine.Cleaning the plugs was no help.

Download a manual from ADB's site then check the basics, go through the carbs to find where the last owner made changes. Check for torn intake boots sucking air very common. Exhaust valves dirty, reeds, can, fuel line pinched?

Lots of items to check to find a sollution for your issue.

pilot jets

Check the pilot jets. They may have a partial blockage. When it's warm, if it can start with the choke on then the pilots are most likely dirty.

I don't know if this would cause the starting problem, but make sure the rings have been changed. 600ho motors had bad rings from factory.

only the 2004 had the bad rings.
did you get them yet Eric?, or is it a summer project.
also we can do that can the same time as the track if you haven't put it on yet.

Everything is getting done this summer. Don't know how much stuff at this time.
