Look out for a friend that has a 2013 pro rmk 155 with a blown motor. Sled is mint always serviced at the dealer, not sure on the miles on it. Wonder what it's worth with a blown motor for selling. They just do want to deal with putting a new motor in it.

……..
Figure a motor cost 4k installed minimum.
Subtract that off the going rate.

I just sold a good running 13 pro with 1000 miles for $4400.00
Bad snow year.
Markets flooded.
New sleds out next year.

I would look more at what you can pick up a used 13/14 engine for, going rate seems to be low $2k's, so factor that into the mix, I'd bet you could get $2k. Would hope anyway. If sled is in good shape, body panels, hood, seat, overstructure, suspension and front end add up quick.

I think you can get an Indy Specialties motor rebuild for around $3000 during the summer. $4400 for a good running low mile '13 Pro is a steal, definitely reflects a bad snow year and a new model coming out. In the lower 48 I suspect you can still get 6000-6500 for a 1000 mile '13 Pro.

Still, it is just a matter of doing the math... He would probably be lucky to get 1500-2000 for a roller with the damaged motor core. Swapping the motor in and out is pretty easy. Indy Dan long Rod with a 3 yr warranty isn't a bad option. Ride it another season, sell it clean, running, with motor warranty after the hype of the '16s passes.

Good Luck!

At the first of the season I sold an 11 chassis, ridden hard, not in perfect shape but not thrashed either, for $2200... I put it in the local ads and within 2 hours had 10 guys call ready to buy sight unseen. I thought they were nuts. :)

I'm guessing now, with the additional sleds coming available in the used market, I wouldn't get near the response.

Have any pics? In BC?

I might be interested in the $1000-1500 range. The pricing right now sucks with 15's being cheap.

I would go $2K USD at the MT / BC border. :)

Lower 48, I have seen 2013 163 Pro locally for $6300 with 550 miles, and $7300 or offer for 2013 163 with 140 miles...

People seem to jump on a rolling chassis deal though, whether it is for a hotrod project or what I don't know, at least down here. Figure the cost of a used or rebuilt motor into it and even with "free" self-labor it is often not worth it. But hey, I even made an offer, something about a project is appealing...

I'm sure if you listed it on here and craigslist it would sell. More and more people are being priced out of the new market every year or are just like me and have decided that the prices just aren't justified for what you get.

I'm interested, I'm in Smithers and will travel for the right deal. Been looking for one for awhile. PM me if it goes up for sale. All I need is the chassie, no interest in the engine, but willing to work any sort of deal. Jay

I rest my case. Unless this is Canadian $$, at $3K you will basically break even on the sled since you can pick up a running one for $6K (even 5K or so locally for me with 2000 miles on it). Depending on how much of hte motor is salvageable you might save a couple hundred or even a thousand, minus your labor cost, worst case you break even and do not recoup anything for your labor. Other than knowing how the engine was built, not much gain...'

I see a 2013 Pro locally for under 6K US and an Assault with 163 CE and antirachet and new top end at 3K miles for 5600 and I am sure he would take 5000 cash...

To each their own. Cheers! :face-icon-small-sho

Price depends on what you have in mind, I have a ubr 900 that would look real good in a pro chassie so to me the cost of repairing the engine is a non issue.

If you want the chassis for an engine you already have then that would work. Plus no-one ever said this sport was all about $$ and cents... :)

Love to ride it, that is what counts!

It is worth far more in parts if he has the time to part it out. If not, sell it for one of the high offers and if they chose to part it out they will easily make their money back likely double it or better. For whatever reason a roller is worth far less than than the sum of the parts.
