Position of steering rod ends on steering arms

Just noticing on the 2006 550 Classic I was given that the steering rod ends are mounted on the top of the steering arms. Other Edge front suspensions I've seen have them mounted to the bottom side of the arms. Does it matter? I know the sled was repaired by a dealer. I'm guessing changing them to the bottom of the arms will require me to re-align the skis.
