Chaincase

My first recomendation is to get the 2004 version with the phantom brake caliper.

Much cleaner look plus you get a double acting piston on the brakes.

I did it to my 2002 and 2003 Edge sleds.

Loosen your track all the way. Take chaincase cover off. Take brake caliper off chaincase and tie up out of the way.

Take both sprockets off and remove.

I think there are three 9/16" bolts holding assembly to the bulkhead.

Whatever you do as far as upgrading, put new bearings and seals in while you have it apart. In fact I would drop the skid and replace the driveshaft bearing on the speedometer end while you are doing this.

Then you'll have some peace of mind as you ride.
