M7 running like ****tt!

9
My buddy has an 06 M7 with a D&D y-pipe and pipe with a jaws can. Boondocker box and egt gage. It will hit 8000 rpm and drop down to 6000 rpm and will just jump up and down between 8 and 6. What could this be? it wont hold top rpm and it bogs alot. The clutch side cylinder runs hotter than the other side. Could it be the servomotor? not opening the powervalves? also how important is the little retainer clip on the servomotor that holds the cables into to place??

Look at several things, check tail light wiring, check clutches for worn parts like rollers, bushings in the clutch sheaves or the bolts that hold the weights in the drive clutch, servo motor , cables to servo, make sure the cables ARE NOT near pipe. Some of these had an issue with the tail light wires wearing through and causing problems. I would guess that if one cyl. is running hotter then check the valve on that side for sticking.
