IndyDan, can ceramic, lightweight bearings be used to replace heavy engine bearings?

I've heard of them being used in racing 4 stroke powersports applications. They probably wouldn't like rapping on a clutch puller with a hammer too well!

I'd say no.
I bought a ceramic ball bearing turbo for my diesel and it only lasted 6000 miles. Turned out most all those turbos were doing about the same.

Remember kpa turbos was doing the same thing. I ate one of those bearings on a backfire.

Granted it's a different location but I wouldn't trust it
