Just curious to see how many firecat big bores are out there and reliable.Seems like every post i read and friends who have them say it's just a matter of time before pistons, rings and cylinders go and once it is fixed its just the matter of time again for something else to give.either lean burn downs,seizing..Has anyone had luck with any that have ran good consistantly without constant burndowns and that have been reliable for a period of time?

Currently running an 03 Firecat with a D&D 900 kit, single pipe and a Barker Can. Fuel, Oil, pull the rope and rip it up. Not a problem in 2 years of Mtn bashing.

700 laydown engine?
From what I have seen most issues are operator error/tuning issues.
There is usually a learning curve with big bores, and unfortunately it can be an expensive learning curve.
My brother runs a cutler 1000 in his m7 and has had his share of troubles, all of which have been miner overlooked issues.
He has not had any failures directly related to the big bore.
