Engine Swap RMK 2007 700 into 2006 900?

Hello,
I bought a wrecked 2007 RMK 700 CFI, with a parts sled, thinking I would rebuild the wreck -- chassis and front suspension from parts sled to tunnel and engine of the wreck. I now spotted a 2006 900 chassis that doesn't need frame/chassis/susspension work. I am looking for thoughts on whether I can put the 700 engine into the 900 body. I anticipate changing controllers, CFI, and similar electronic items. TIA for any comments/help! Alan

Engine mounting system between the two is totally different so I would stick with your original plan.

What a NEAT! response. Very much appreciated, and I see what you mean. I am just so not looking forward to drilling out the old chassis from the tunnel, then reattaching it, nevermind pulling and re-installing the engine and front suspension to carry this out. Guess what I will be doing later this summer.

Honestly, you should be able to find an 07 chassis without too much of an issue...motors almost always go before the chassis. I put a triple in an 01 rmk back in the day...pipes, clutch alignment, intake, all that stuff makes it pretty difficult and costs add up.
