custom vert steering?

hey i have an 01 mtn cat 800 and ive been looking into a forward mount post but got to thinking i need a project for school and they have tig welders should i go ahead and make a new steering hoop that ties into the front of the bulk head like the new cats and pros and doos? and then fab up a vert post and the linkage to run back to the stock column? would it make enough dif with the forward and vert steering? or just leave it stock and add some risers? thanx

Forward post and maybe 2'' riser at most. Put some 02 or newer bars on it. I have no idea how much money spent on bars and risers and I ended up with MX bars that were the same width as the my 02 bars and 2'' taller with the riser. Just pick up a forward post, CR racing or wildchild on here make them. If you get one from wildchild you can order it 2'' taller that stock and cromoly too.
