There is a way to check ohms. I have heard that even if the ohms are really close sometimes it will be bad. I don't have a book for the procedure, but the dealer will and more than likely you could go in and copy the info. It is roughly 10 minute deal and they may even do it for nothing if you could get it there.

At one time there was a place up in Canada that did rewinds(rebuilds) of stators making them way better than a stock one. If I come across the weab site Ill postit.

There is a quick way to ohm out a stator. I dont know the pin out for a Polaris however. Ask your shop if they can copy the page from the service manual for you.

FYI...usually when a stator goes it goes. I have seen cases where a winding can open once it gets to a certain temp..then after it cools down the metal contracts and the winding closes and you ohm it and it looks good.

Easiest way is to check resistance.

Can also do a current test if you have a load that can handle the power.
