Yeah they make a couple different ones, depending on your pipe combo ect. give them a call and they can set you up.

You can buy replacement petals direct from Moto Tassinnarri, save some $$$ rather than buying the complete set-up. I've called them before, they're located on the East Coast, or check w/SLP I'll bet they have the replacement petals in stock.

The V-Force 3's superceded the 2's and as far as I know, the 2's are no longer being produced unless you might find some collecting dust sitting on the shelf somewhere.

The main difference between the 2's and 3's is the 3's have NON-ADJUSTABLE stops.

After that it's all advertising gimmicks.

Hope this helps.

Boysen's would be the better of the two in my opinion, HOWEVER Niether are worth the money if you ask me.

In old school stuff like the 80's and early 90's they made a lot bigger difference due to the facotry not looking there for more hp. As time has gone by the hp to weight war is very heavy duty between the factories and they aren't going to leave much on the table from something as simple as reeds. Heck Polaris was actually putting Vforce 2's in the snowcross sleds stock from the factory.

and what would the difference be between these two heads??

3) 6000'-9000' elevation part #12-348 (NO RACE GAS)

4) 6000'-9000' part # 12-504 (for use w/20% 108 octane/91 octane mix)

Go with option number 3 and you'll be fine on good pump gas, SLP's numbers on those are fairly conservative, much like their jetting numbers.

Well, to tell you the truth a head is not going to make arm snapping differeance in power. It all depends on if your willing to be messing with race gas or not. You will not notice huge power gains either way so IMHO go with option 3 and don't worry about finding race fuel to mix in with it. Either way it will be slightly better than your stock head was.

ooops sorry I meant option 3 on the list not 2, the 6000-9000 ft pump gas heads.

Other posts edited to reflect that.

heres an email reply from jim at slp

Hello,

The part number 12-348 is our 6-9000 foot head for use with 91 or better fuel with stock (not ported) cylinders. Using this between 5000 and 6000 would be ok with 91 “non ethanol” fuel without extremely long full throttle runs. I would imagine you are going up higher right away so this may not be an issue. If fuel quality is an issue use some Lucas octane booster with works real well. Here is a link for the heads.

Thanks, Jim

so could i run 94 octane all round? and 91 for bit low elevation if different lower country??

the lower the altitude the higher the quality or octane rating of fuel you will need. Always run Non-oxygenated fuel if you can. Ethanol while it raises octane does run leaner than pure gasoline ie, Oxygenated fuel will require slightly richer jetting. 94 would be great fuel all around as long as it is not Oxygenated (Ethanol Enriched) 91 would also work fine but is pushing the limit if your lower than 5000 ft.

The only thing out of the performance package that your missing is the porting and if they did a remap of the CDI for the package.
