600 cfi 4, cfi 2+2, and the new 600 rmk cfi 2

The numbers after the CFI are refering to the injectors. The older CFI motors had 4 injectors. 2 for each cylinder (which is why i'm gussing they are called 2+2) Unlike ski doo, only one of the 2 injectors in each cylinder can be opened at a time. I know the 800 CFI 4 injector motors (like mine) were having a bog issue midrange. Suspected the top injectors where not opeing up properly at midrange rpms while the lower injectors started to close. This created or helped contribute atleast to the infamous 800 bog. That is one reason the new Pro's 800s only have 2 injectors. i suspect they are trying that on the new 600 CFI motors for reliability issuses too. Although i must say my 2007 Polaris 600 CFI with 4 injectors has always run mint with no bog and now has over 7000 miles on it.

It has to do with where and how many Injector the engine has..




X2 on the 2007 Polaris 600 CFI4 Engine... Starts cold 2nd plug every time, 1st pull after its warm.

Plus.. Never opened the engine up!!
