2005 z570 to 1986 500cc engine

Okay, so I have a 2005 z570 that I blew the motor in. I found 1986 500cc fan cooled engine. I modified the motor mounts so I could put the engine in, and it seems to be running relatively well.

Until I hit the breaks, it will run, but it runs like it has a fouled plus. (I checked, it doesn't.) And also the engine will only run when the kill switch is in the "kill" position. It dies if I try to switch it to where it normally is.

Same thing with the key.

Any pointers on what might be ailing my sled? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about the brake issue, but the kill switch and key you aren't going to be able to easily fix. Cat swapped from normally closed to normally open ignitions in ~'97.
