Thanks mtnhorse. The 900 is bone stock, as is my 600. I know I can get at least 3000.00 for my machine this year, but if I wait it will really decline in value. Plus it is approaching 3000miles and I would like to upgrade before I have to put any money into it. So you think the dragon would be the way to go, I will strongly consider your advise. My only problem is that I am on a budget of around $5000.00 probablly not enough for a dragon.

Maybe you could get some 700 head set and port it.

Your sled should beat stock 700's and keep up with 800's.

You could do this for under a $1000 (not including labor.)

900 rmk

I would take an M7 over a 700 dragon any day.this time of year you should be able to get an 06 m7 in good shape for $3500 or less.

I ride a 05 900 RMK & a 09 800 Assault both good sleds, but the 900 needed $2000 of parts to make it a nice ride! I did not like it bone stock. 800 great out of the box. Rode a 700 rmk also great out of the box. I would look for a used 700 or 800 or boost/turbo/enlarge your 600! My 2 cents!

I had to put on skis,intake,Fox shocks, belts, heavier sway bar, vents, ice scratchers and remove radiator before my 900 came together, but still like my 800's handling much better! Just a much lighter sled!

Good Luck whatever sled you choose!:):beer;

900 rmk vs m7

smoothdawg, I think this is a rider issue, not a sled problem. i have a bone stock 900 RMK and my buddy has an m7. i can kick his can all the way from here to breakfast. Maybe you need to practice... ( :

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

the M7 is an over achiever for a 7 by a long ways but 200 cc is hard to make up for, something had to be wrong with the 900.

Snowman, I would have to disagree with you there. The marks up the hill were side by side [5 ft. apart]. Probably not the best rider to hop on a sled for sure, but the results were what they were. Once again not bashing just giving some real world results.

dont buy it

trust me dont buy it they nose dive sooo bad i poured tons of money on mine and i hate it i got nitrous on it still hate it. get an 800 spend the money and enjoy riding

Like others said the 900 is a stump puller and will run with the best of them when set up right. I had allot of fun on my 900 you do have to keep a close eye on some small things to keep it on par nothing huge but still not a sled you can stick in the garage after it has 1000 miles on it and ride weekend after weekend without opening the hood.

I would take a hard look at a good Dragon 700 if you can they don't have the power but are more of a pull the rope and go.

With that said if you do go with a 900 there are plenty of us that are willing to help you out along the way with any questions you may have.

X2. Had an '05 that I spent some time & money on and had a ton of fun with it. SNOW JW & SLP were tons of help getting it dialed in.

900 rocks!

I agree with you all. I own an 06' and I currently have 3200 miles with the orginal engine. Yes, i've had my share of bad luck, but once it's setup. No one can hang with me, and there a blast to ride. Again, with proper setup and attention to maintanance these sleds run awesome. I'm all about 5'5" and only 150 pounds and I throw this machine around like a rage doll. Can't wiat to ride again.
