Backshift is so much stronger. Very impressed with that aspect. I almost think it could pull more helix like a 44/38 or 42/38 or 42/40. It seems to hit 7700-7800 right off the bat and sometimes gains RPM.

I'm seeing low 40s. like 42ish MPH depending on conditions. This is around 9000 ft.

I also have a Speedwerx y-pipe to try and 70 gram weights. I thought about dropping to 70s and a softer spring to see what I get for Rs and track speed. Y-pipe should be run at 7900 RPM.

I wish Cat had weights inbetween.

Right now its running perfect at around 7700-7800 RPM. If I put the y-pipe on and want 7900-8000 RPM, I think I will over rev with 70s.

Finding the opposite with my helix angles riding at 5 to 6000'.

09 153 HCR (little harder track) narrow Holz front end stock shocks, dual spring, 325 tender with .7 stop and Ti main spring about 130, dual spring middle 225 tender with .62 travel and 240 main spring, Geo mod on rear shock with Nextech air chamber set in middle with 125 start pressure for 3.5 in. sag, SLP pipe combo and boony box with some fuel reduced on the top and added in the middle at 6700, little clean-up inside but nothing fancy, AC Gold primary, Dalton adjustables at 76.7 gr mostly at the tip cause of the soft start on the Gold, D&D tortional kit from last year (not the REALLY nice cover they have this year) modified for reverse, D&D purple spring (close to the AC green) in the second hole, revs 7950 to 8050 hardpack or deep. Wont talk track speed cause it is too variable but I will say it keeps climbing the longer the pull.

Whew, all that to compare apples to apples.

Helix angle. Started with 42 36 P reved good because of slip. Good on flats lost track speed on hills but kept the revs. Next 40 36 straight, Too long a duration on the 40 (Dalton cut) but 36 squeezed the secondary enough on midshift to need less weight (lowered rpm) but track speed increased.
Next straight 36.

What I have found is the new PC track grabs so good you need all the squeeze from the beginning of shift.
I have used the multi angle helix on my past M7s and M8s with great success but the new traction has the small secondary working harder and needs the helix help.

My 2 cents on the never ending clutching debate LOL.

With 70's and the 150/330 spring my sled runs right at 7900 in a climb at 9000ft so I would bet it's really close. I have heard from several people that the Y-pipe makes no difference at altitude. You will have to let us know how you like it. So far I am very pleased with mine. I was going to install some 68g weights and a lighter spring for my ride today but my current setup 69.5 g weights and 150/330 spring work good with mid 40's, around 45, in a hard climb a 9000ft. I am thinking about installing the slp 140/340 spring to see if I can get a little more rpm. Right now at 9000ft I am seeing 7850-7950 in a climb.

any troubles with the torsion set up and the Reverse helix

Once in a blue moon the belt slips a little, but it works 99.5% of the time. You can feather it and your fine if it does slip. I've never had reverse before and it sure is nice. I've used it a ton!!! I would say its slipped a couple times in maybe 50 tries. I was messing with just to see if it wouldn't work.

Geo, interesting observations. I will try to keep an eye on track speed.

Curious if you tried more spring tension to get the track speed up with the 42/36? I believe the D&D is maybe 15 or 20 lbs softer then the green?

So u like the straight 36 the best?

Yes I Twisted the spring up til the mph stabilized (about 45 mph) but would not climb past. It also created more heat and dust and started to need to carry gas LOL.

Haven`t tried the straight 36 yet. Stuck with the 40 36 (which is much better). Have to wait for the next order ( all the old ones are useless again, just like DVD`s soon LOL).

Anybody have any new updates? I had to replace my first belt last week in Island Park. 560 miles on the sled. I did notice that both of my clutches were really hot and we were just on the trail. Is everyone elses clutches running hot? I checked the ones on my 07 m8 that my wife was riding on the trail and they were very cool compared to mine. I am running 70 gram weights and a speedwerx ti spring that has the same rate as the cat orange white
