First off I'm a total 2 stroke noob.

The top end was done last season and has been running excellent until today (w/ exception of a small kill switch issue a few weeks back). Sled kept bogging and dieing on the trial this morning. Engine was not over temp, plugs look good swapped them anyway then realized the mag side cyl is totally dead. No compression. Won't even push your thumb off the spark plug hole when turned over. Yanked it home and looking for a reason not to pull it apart.
Any advice would be great thanks.

Could be. The piston is toast as is the cylinder wall. The head was much cleaner than the the other side. Have no idea what that means but would think it was getting less oil at least maybe?

Did the coolant go down some? Sometimes a real clean head has gotten that way by leaky o rings, that would have taken the piston out too.
