hi where are you guys getting insurance for these turbo sleds? ALBERTA is where i am located. How much is the cost? Every time i went up a mountain last year with my tnytro i was scared because if i wreck it i am screwed!:eek:

Thanks james

I went with Gieco, it is more expensive than others, but I did not want to change my inurance company for everything I own. I went all last season without it, so this season I just went and got it.

I have mine insured with the co-operators, According to them as long as you don't have any modifications that make your sled faster then you should be good, Technically my sled with still top out at the same speed but it will get there a little faster Lol. This is what I was told by my insurance adjuster when I made an auto claim. Could be different with sleds, I still have it insured for 34k = around 600.00/year. (I think, I have a few toys so I mite have it mixed up with one of them per year price that is). :beer;:beer;

I dont have a turbo sled but when I was checkin on insurance for my viper it was outragous everywhere my insurance guy checked. he ended up putting it in with my house insurance somehow and I only pay like $200 A year, otherwise it was going to be aver $700
might be something to look into

WFO...I would double check that rate and coverages to make sure you are getting the adequate coverage. I have worked in the insurance industry for 7 years and those numbers don't even come close to making sense. I would say Sawyer's numbers are more realistic.

Stock Nytro through Allstate about $225 a year, $10,000 in extra covrage $350 a year. They said they would need to see receipts for the turbo and mods if I ever had a claim so that they could pro-rate the claim. I told them the life of the turbo kit is 10 years. So I lose $1000 a year in coverage. Worth it in my book. Had a claim on my 07 Rt 1000 last year, no questions asked. Paid me out at $9300 plus I got the salvage rights for $1500.00. Allstate is decent in my opinion.

Anybody got an BC insurance?? Only ICBC, I thought that ares was like 1200 per year
(including liability(which is more important))

Yes I'm curious as well, I went last week to get some insurance for my Tapex, they requested a print out of my driving record. So this week I'll get that for them, I'm hoping I'm not going to have any problems considering my driving record isn't the greatest.:confused:

progressive asks you if you have a turbo or nitrous when you do a quote with them. only thing is there super high.

i got a quote and it was $ 1100.00 a year for my turbo, here in b.c at capri insurance,plus i had to have a apraisel , covered for $25,000, but would they actually pay that out or not ? there must be a cheaper insurer,nice having piece of mind

Did they require a print out of your driving record?

check with wawaneesa, Mine is pretty cheap. I;m not riding a turbo mind you, but I pay less than 350 a year for the most coverage I could get on my 02 summit (fire theft, full collision, liability, all of it)

My bike (Victory Hammer S) was 686.00/Year, My Sled is 448.00/Year for full coverage, and they needed copies of all my receipt for proof. I don’t think I would get all my money back if something was to happen (Like a rock or tree) but it would be a lot more difficult then if I tried to make a claim for 30k and only had it insured for 15k. Co-operators are a little more money but I find that when something happen there pretty good to deal with, JMO.

i have mine insured through foremost. they had to have a copy of my driving record, receipts for everything i have into my sled then the 300,000 liability coverage some other amount for medical and all that stuff. if i wreck my sled they'll cut me a check for 17,000 no questions asked(or so they say) my premium was only $506 for the year

Insuring a boosted sled can be tricky. Many companies will not cover them if you read the fine print and many that will insure them charge heavily. I represent a number of companies and only a couple will actually cover them with rates that are respectable.

There are a lot of variables so it is hard to say what each persons rates might be, but my SC Nytro is under $250 per year.
