Big Horns get another spring storm

Many of you probably have your sleds covered with a tarp in your garage by now. But if you live anywhere near the Bighorn Mountains then I suggest that you immediately uncover them and load them up for this weekend.

I looked out my window this morning and was not only blinded but bewildered by the amount of snow we recieved while I slumbered. I can't really give you an accurate account of exactly how much snow we got, but I am going to guess between one and three feet. There are drifts as high as five feet. The window in our bar is obscured by snow, blocking the lovely view.

Anyway, just wanted to spread the good word. We have some sledders up here now that already called all their friends this morning to have them come up this weekend.

Will try to post some pictures later today. For those of you already coming up to play all I can say is that I am jealouse. I want to shred some freshy tracks out there. Instead I have mountains of paperwork to go through. :face-icon-small-win

PS If you you call us to book the weekend, tell the front desk you want the "snowest -ate," which is only 29.99 this weekend. -307-461-4168. There are only three available cabins so call soon.

That looks awsum, Wish I was there at that time. Is it suppose to snow more this weekend? Would like to make it one more time this weekend. Otherwise I will go to Moorhead to pich up spyder (3 wheel motorcycle). Jileana, Do you still rent sleds? Buddy want to come along and needs sled.

What a difference a day makes!

Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the Horns until Saturday evening. We woke up Sunday to 22 inches of the most incredible powder that had melted down to about 6 inches of slush. :( We first headed west out of Bear Lodge and the snow got worse, so we went back to the trailer and asked some folks who were packing up were to ride. 50% said to ride South between the Passage & Granite and the other 50% said to ride North up by Freeze Out Point. None of us had ever rode North so we choose South. We put on over 60 miles and found nothing but mashed potatoes. Monday we rode North and foung the same thing. 50 degrees on the mountain really puts a hurtin on the snow. I wish we could have been there Friday. Sounds like everyone had a blast.

See you all next year.
