Fairview Shootout - April 5th

The official / unofficial fairview shootout will be taking place on April 4th & 5th.

The shootout has normally taken place in Staker Canyon AKA Race Bowl. However, last year there seemed to be some confusion as to what hill was the official racing hill; I believe there were two hills. The "old one" in Race Bowl and the "new one" that is in the same canyon as the parking lots on top, just to the south. (Spring Canyon).

I like race bowl as much as anyone else, but I just imagine that the "main event" is going to be migrating more to the "new location". What are your thoughts?

Wouldn't miss it.

Weather/snow permitting the race bowl is better. There just wasn't much snow on the race hill last year.

Does Freak have the Trex going again???

This mess needs to be straigtened up! The race bowl is not a good place to race as there is a huge cornice at the top! Makes it kinda hard to make a safe full pull with a wall at the top! I prefered the second hill as its close to the parking and you can motor right up over the top. I won't waste my time going back to the race bowl this year.

Zoom... it's an outlaw event and your complaining about a cornice at the top of the bowl?

I understand, it's tough for some people to make it all the way to race bowl and it is a big hill which might scare some others.

It's a mute point anyway, if Freak brings the Trex it is over before it starts.

I hope that Doo brings there new rides again for test drives, bring the new 600 if you do. What happend to the free lunch last year? "New Hill" can be somewhat of a traffic jam since it is one of the two ways to get down the ridge to the good riding. Big cornices this year.

Yea, but with the lack of trees Lifeflight can sit down in there pretty easy.

Ya the race bowl has a cornice. Big deal you can turn out half way up the hill and it is still a longer hill than racing at the bunny hills. Is it Mountain Mod Mania or Mole Hill Mania.

If tradition holds we wont have to worry about it for 3 more years because it will be a blizzard and no one will dare go to the race bowl.

Where ever it happens it is always a good time with some incredible sleds.

I think we should move the race to the horseshoe bowl.

Too bad its 25 miles back to those bowls.

If we keep it at the parking lot, the Fairview shootout will become the "Parking lot Poser P*ssy Pull"

Keep it at Race bowl. (Weather Permitting) Anybody got some TNT to blow those dang cornices off. This year they are pretty big.
Seriously though if someone has a good idea of how to knock them down so we can go over the top let me know, I'll be up there to help.

Also with all the kites that are up there now, it will be way to congested to hold it at the parking lot.

I thought that was the point,
it is one thing too unload a fast sled, ride it a couple hundred yards to the race hill, and another to have to ride a few miles (not even close to 25) in and out of the race hill. IMO it is much more impressive for the winner to have to ride his/her fast sled in and out from race bowl. A sled Like Trex is more than able to make the ride in and out from race bowl, now Bruces big turbo tripple may not make it. Just my .02

I totally agree, no reason to have unwanted conflicts with other users up on the Mtn.
It would get really interesting at the Horseshoe but not practical, all those nytros would run out of gas long before we got back in there.

Another vote for Racebowl as this is were it all started, just ask the P.T.P's (Polaris Turbos from Price) they were giving everyone a run for there money up until the last couple years with the Yammi's around.
But all we seem to remember is Freak, Does anyone remeber this event before Yammaha? Tyson, Artic cat big bores, Man thats when it was fun and loud!
