Doo Legend 550f won't start...

Hey quick question for the those versed in 2-stroke motor work...

I've got a 550 that won't start up, and doesn't appear to be getting gas, as there is no gas on the spark plugs when I pull them out.
The motor will "start" when I spray starter fluid in there, but that's it.

Does anyone have any experience with these machines, probably not just ski-doo, but 2-stroke in general with a fuel pump?

I wanted to try and make it out next weekend, but since this thing won't start, I don't have a second sled for my friend.

Any help, or ideas would be great.
Thanks,
~Mike

Those engines are pretty solid. Is it outside?

We've got a sled that you need to heat the fuel pump up sometimes to get it to work. Maybe because its been sunk in the lake too many times... anyhow try and get it warmed up and give it a go. If you take the airbox off you should be able to trace your fuel lines and see if you are getting fuel to the carbs.

If you've stored the thing for quite a while with junk fuel, sometimes the main jets can get clogged up.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes its outside, and actually didn't get out last season, but I did start it up and run it a few times last year.
I haven't torn it apart yet, seems sort of like a pandora's box that I didn't want to open up, but thinking I might as well just give it a shot.
I'll also try and heat up the pump because it is cold down here, but no colder than it has been in the past when it's been used.

Lake water, ya, that could hurt a fuel pump. :)
