FYI EV cable..RPM loss, fde, etc

My RPM's have been low the past couple rides, then they dropped to about 7200-7500 RPMs. Long story short, my exhaust valve cable broke. You'd never know without unbolting the valve housing and cycling the actuator.

So, the cable had probably been slowly fraying the past couple rides then it finally broke. So if you are experiencing RPM issues and have checked the other 11 things on Polaris Team Tips list, unbolt your housing and check it out.

Personally I think the RPM loss on a lot of these machines is probably due to cable stretching and valves not opening all the way. If it can break in 1100 miles, it can certainly stretch.

Maybe mine was adjusted too tight from the factory and that helped stress the cable till it broke, who knows.

Not to pat myself on the back and strain a muscle but I figured we'd start seeing this.
Good find Chad.

Replaced it last night. The cable slowly frayed where it meets the adjuster in the EV housing, then finally broke.

My RPM's are back to 8400ish now.

Cat had problems with their cable EV system for a couple years then got it nailed down and we rarely see problems with them anymore, so I did kind of see this coming a little as well.

Afternoon you installed the new cable, did you have to take it to dealer to relearn/sync the exhaust valve with digital wrench or is this something that can just be done manually? Thanks
