Are fox shocks from PRO going to fit AXYS?

The RTS of the ProRide-mtn sleds is shorter by a full .30" than the RTS of an AXYS-mtn.

The travel on the ProRide RTS shock is shorter as well.

The Rear track shock on the AXYS-Mountain sleds
17.1” extended and 11.4” Compressed, 5.70" stroke.

The Rear track shock on the PRO RIDE-Mountain sleds
16.8” extended and 11.35” Compressed, 5.45" stroke.

is this possible to send my PRO rear shocks to the FOX service center to make them longer to fit AXYS?

You may be able to "cheat" another .30" from the air sleeve... with a longer shock rod.

I would contact Toms Snowmobile or Gas shock repair to get fast service on this and find out if possible. I think fox may have a longer turn around time.

I'm VERY interested to see if you can get another .30" in a float shock intended for the ProRide-mtn sleds.

Plz keep us in the loop with your findings.

Here' my take after talking to insiders I trust.... IMO...or "My 2¢"

The ski shocks... Direct transfer

The FTS (front track shock)... Direct transfer

The RTS (Rear Track Shock).... not the same.

With all of the engineering that went into the AXYS-Mtn Sleds... and the combination of all the things that make this sled what it is. You've spent over $10,000 to by this "mix" of engineering and experience.

The rear track shock is the most important one on the sled IMO... so why settle for sub par.

To modify a Float RTS from a ProRide-mtn to work well on an AXYS-mtn... you would have to have a new shock rod installed, new valving and probably a shorter shock body... all expensive...and time consuming.

IMO... Keep your ski shocks, but sell your Float rear shocks (both) and buy a new set that is made just for your sled... I think you'll be $$ and frustration ahead of the game.
From what I understand... you cant simply buy just the Float RTS shock on its own very easily (probably a special order with lead time... and probably most of the cost of a pair as a set) ... it would be difficult to SELL just the RTS for any decent price.

Plus... the valving in a set of Float rear skid shocks for the AXYS will be, most likely, different from the ProRide.

The tech told me this is definitely doable, if not by cheating the length then by buying a new shaft, a new shaft should not be too pricey, definitely less pricey than buying a new fox set. He will try doing that today, I will keep you updated

I spoke with both Tom's and GSR and it wasn't going to be cheap. Perhaps someone has figured out a quick solution, but I agree with MH and feel having the correctly built shock for the skid is the way to go. Sold the Evol r's and am going to have the stockers worked for better performance.

I will let you know how much this will cost to replace the shaft as soon as I get that information.

are you talking about shock settings specific to AXYS? copying settings from AXYS shock should be as easy as 1-2-3 given that someone would provide that information:)

I had a Float Evol RTS from my '11 Pro sitting around, which I installed in my axys this past weekend for a 2 day trip to Revy. The stock WE Clicker is slightly longer, but I had zero issues running 150 psi in this Float and its alot smoother on the whoops.
FTS spring is backout almost as the way, and it kept the front end down more than the stock rear while climbing.
Now i just have to figure out what to do with these front clickers as I do not like how they perform.

Is this still the case?

The front pro ride shocks from Fox will work with the axys?

I am searching for Front shocks on Ebay and they dont say that it fits the axys when I do the search in the fitment guide that some sellers have.

Confused

if you guys have rear fox shocks that fit the pro and want to get them to work on ur new axys send me a pm I'll hook you up with my Shock guy... and it fairly cheep to do...
