I had SLP Powder Pros the last two years on my 2013. Great ski very agressive, but still not providing the flotation that I would like to see in deep snow(Submarine). I am going to try Simmons Gen III this year, wider(8") and a little less keel, hoping for a little better flotation.

I tend to lean the other way. i like how the powder pro acts in powder. not amuch flotation but predictable while carving, no suprises. the sli dogs had good trail qualities and at 8 inches they do float better. but i found them to edgy in a side hill. if you crossed a track you knew it where a powder pro would hold the line

I wonder if Arctic Cat will ever get the hint and put some good powder Ski's on their Mountain Sleds. They put the best powder track made and the worst powder ski's on the same sled not sure what their thinking.

I have powder pros on both of mine, and like them a lot. I talked with SLP at hay days and they pushed me to the Mohawk, same performance as the powder pros with less rider input ( turns easier ). I going to give the Mohawk a try.

I feel my opinion on the "best ski" is hard to validate, because I've only tried the Powder Pros vs. the stock skis, but I can tell you the guy above nailed it... the Powder Pros are very predictable. Much more so than the stock skis. I have the HCR which had a deeper keel than the other ProClimbs. Those skis were absolutely garbage. It's like Cat told their R&D guys to make something that looked and generally performed in a ski-like fashion that's as far as the testing got. What pieces of sh*t.

I rode one season on SLP powder pros and LOVED them. Powder hounds just feel boaty. They float well and are definitely hounds in powder but the 8" width is a bit much in my opinion. My overall observation has generally been to go with powder pros. And I may try the Mohawks this year. Just not sure if I even wanna go away from the pros.

I bought a set of Mohawks it be won't be long before we see how they float & sidehill. I learned a long time ago mod ski are better than stock but ALL ski's regardless have there pros & cons.

I too am interested in the SLP Mohawk ski !
I see GoBigParts states 17lbs (is that shipping weight)
Anyone know how much they weigh ??
Also compared to the Polaris Pro Gripper ski and/or the stock Proclimb ski weight ??

A little trim work with a utility knife needs to be done to the saddle plastic and 2 rows of nubs on the 14/15 ski rubber to make them fit. Very easy and takes minimal time.

I have all the aftermarket Skis and the best hands down is Polaris Poo grippers. Even my new Mohawks suck in comparison, Were runnin them on the Doo,s as well. jus sayin

I also see used grippers go for way more than they are worth. Just order a new set through dirtcheapsnow for $175, and you have everything you need minus the ski - spindle bolts, nuts, washers, and carbides. Can buy that hardware separate at the same time or just buy stronger 10 grade bolts from fastenal in a 150 mm length. Carbides I went with hard welds through johnmaster.

Another tip . order the 6 inch carbides/bars from Woodys, The stock Poo bars are really small. Woodys have a square larger bar and ski responses much better without push and more aggressive. cost is about the same
