2012 pro rmk clutch snapped

So the clutch on my 2012 pro rmk 800 snapped in half and now I am wondering how to get the other half off? Also just wondering if I should replace it with a stock clutch or something aftermarket. Any help is appreciated.

Disassemble the part that broke off
Weld the steel center part back on
Use clutch puller

I have done this a couple times and it works like a champ. The key is to weld a little spot then cool and so on. You don't want to melt the seal.

Agree...I had this happen in Cooke last year. Cooke Polaris dealer (Exxon) welded it back on and used a puller.

X2 weld it back on and use puller. My buddies 13 assault just snapped the clutch just like yours but he got his covered under warranty.

Make sure before welding you wrap wet rags tight aroung everthing except where you weld. Be sure to gap the part 1/16 before or it will break off when using the pulling tool due to the hardened metal it has little elastisaty.

Same thing happened to me last year. I cut it with a cutoff wheel and then used an air chisel. Thread search, you'll find it. Pics included.

Same thing on my 2012, 2200mi, sweet talked the service manager and he talked polaris into give some "good will" warranty and covered it. Had to do the destructive method of removal.

Welding is the "best" way. Mine did the same thing but my dealer warrantied it. I ended up getting a new crank, clutch and motor rebuild.

I'm going against the grain on welding. I had the exact same thing happen on a D8. I did try welding, but it's hard to get much penetration and weld as the surface area of the crack is small. Plus, you have a good chance of melting the seal to the case.

I ended up using an air grinder to cut relief pieces until it finally popped off. It takes a long time as the steel is very hard. You have to be very careful regardless of what you do so you don't ruin the run out on that shaft. I measured mine when done and it was within tolerances (I think from a Polaris manual).
