Water temps up

On my KX 450 I did something similar and blocked off one radiator. Todays ride in the fluff the temps were between 146 to 188 pulling hard on the trail.
Got up to 217 when climbing. That tells me I could uncover both radiators for a long pull uphill. I believe this is where the engine temps need to be to not over fuel.

That's a nice job!
What kind of plastic and more importantly where do you buy it?
I used crazy carpet and plastic cutting board material last year as it was the only thing I could find in town.

It's abs plastic , find your local industrial plastic supplier , I have radiator blocks as well , but I put them in after the trail

That is a good looking cover. I have made something similar. My question is to the guys that are running a temp sensor, where are you putting it inline? Before the radiators after the head? Or after the radiators back into the motor. Not to hi-jack your thread. Just a question I thought of

Coolant outlet from the head

Most have put temp sensor on coolant outlet from head. I did the gman trick and tapped the thermostat housing to install the sensor at the base of the thermostat.
I could see the temp change when the thermostat opened or closed.
Happy with the increased engine temp due to the shrouding.
Air temp was 12 when we unloaded. With both radiators covered the warm up took 5 miles or so, then uncovered the small radiator and ran with that the rest of the day. Tonight drained oil to see if any fuel....NONE!:face-icon-small-hap

held up great but temps were hot , gona try running only the exhaust pannel next ride and see how it goes

Put the fan on a manual switch put some water wetter aka engine ice aka kool aid and ran the full enclosure , max temp of the day was 200 goin up the road max was 170 , 6"to 24" fresh . I think it's gona work great, see how it holds up in a deep powder day .
