Skid Hole Location

i have the 012 Assault 155,originally the skid was located in the lower hole.I talked to a few ppl and was told to move it to the top hole because it'll help the sled for climbing and better boondocking.... the lower hole will make it wheelie and better for jumps..Is this correct?

Yes! IMO, this is absolutely correct!

Locating the Assault skid in the upper hole completely changes how that sled handles. Again, IMO... Much more enjoyable for my style of riding.

Hard to believe how much difference this made! Gosh, its only about 3/4".....?

That is what everyone is saying. How much ski pressue increase did you see after moving it up?

Some vs. NONE!!

I messed with spring adjustments on the skid from the lowest to the highest ranges just trying to see some difference. Locating the skid in the upper mount did the trick!

NONE!! Ha, Ha!!

After you moved it up, just curious where about did you end up with the spring adjustment?

Seriously! Depending on conditions, with the skid mounted in the lower position you get INSTANT transfer causing ski lift! Admittedly, if I was riding in hard spring snow I wouldn't care much...

I simply set the springs as recommended in the owners manual and it seems great!

Would moving to the upper holes make for a better approach angle, thus less trenching? Help get on top of the snow?
