M8 diamond drive gear alignment question?

2010 M8 HCR with 850 miles. I purchased the sled a month ago and I am in the middle of getting it ready for the season. Are the gears not aligned correctly, or are they supposed to look like the picture.

Put the over size bearing in it. I grenaded mine last year there wasn't one piece that was usable including case and cover. I bet its because it was set up like yours.

Man.........that doesn't seem right..........I had two 2010 M8's appart and an 09' and none of them had a gear alignment that was "that" far off. They may have had a little offset.......but only a few thousandths. I am sure someone with more experience will post up here.........but that seems like too much mis-alignment / offset whatever you want to call it.

It doens't look like either gear is parrallel to the case, both seem to be racked in to the center.

i doubt the gears stay like that with the cover on. does the cover even go on like that?

mine looked even worse than that last night w/500 miles, but you have to remember that stack of gears comes off that case! I am pretty sure I moved them off center when I removed the case. I agree that there isn't a whole lot of room for the gears to be very far off with the case closed, just push them on all the way square when you bolt it back together

yep what FCR said.

Mine looked the same when I opened the case to switch to the double row bearing.

Just align them in the case cover before you bolt it up.
