M telescoping handlebars riser

Why does no one like the teliscoping that cat has. I find it very helpful. When I ride aggressive I put it all the way up, and when I ride trails with my son on there I put it down where it is comfy to sit.

the post is about adding an additional riser to the telescoping handle bars. The cat riser just isnt tall enough for alot of taller risers so they want an additional inch or two.

As you extend the post upward the bars also come back. It fixes that as well.

Quote from AMP:

"We have solved this problem with a unique offset bar mount, to bring the rider forward for more control and comfort. The riser has 2” additional height and 1-1/2” forward distance built into an attractive lightweight design."

If you want a cheap alternative to the amp riser just get a regular rox pivoting riser. Then just shave a little of the top plate of your post so it will tighten up. And trim a bit of rubber of the bars. I did this and it works great, cost 40 buck canadian. These are the same riseres used on the older style m series and on the 1 m`s.

You can also buy the older style top caps and it will tighten up but they dont look as finished.

I have called AMP twice now about making a taller than 2" riser for the Cat telescoping steering column. They seem receptive and I believe if they had a few more requests they'd make a 4" riser as well. I too have plenty of clearance with my 2" AMP riser but, the question is, how high can we go without having to change either throttle or brake cables? I'd love to bolt on a higher riser but, is a 4" or 5" riser even in the cards without having to purchase new cables?

Does any one know of a handlebar riser for the telescoping steering post on the 09 & 10 M ? The only one I have found is from AMP Products.

finished mine a week ago and think it will be sweet....:D

Does anyone have an elevation/profile picture of this from the side to give a rough visual on how far forward it goes?
