New Boss Seat

So my M-Series New Generation Boss Seat showed up today. I just have some observations to note. I'm impressed with the finish of there new seat for one, for two, the seat is pretty nice and soft unlike the similiar designed 09 cat boss seat that's rock hard, but the one thing I didn't like was that I think it felt like its about 1 lb to 1.5 lbs heavier then the old boss seats. I could just being dreaming though, not sure....

Just though you guys might like some opinions on the new seat.

Weigh the seat before you put it on your sled. I weighed my old Boss and it was 6 pounds.

How much storage does it have inside all those pockets? Does it have more room than the old Bosses?

so for fun today we weighed some seats with our postal scale

old style stock M-Seat 14ish
new style 2010 M-Seat 11ish
Arctic Cat Boss 2009 6ish
Boss High Rise 2009 6ish

I do like the new Cat seat but I thought it was lighter.

like 5 lbs is gonna matter when you're busting powpow. Give me a break on this weight crap and recognize this is a great seat and way cheaper than boss.

I'm referring to the new boss seat not the ac shorty seat. As for the storage which was asked about, much much more. I'd say about the same as the stock 07,08,09 seats. There's plenty of room for all your junk.

Great pics!

How far does the storage go under the foam of the seat? I wonder how much space there is compared to the new 2010 cat seat. I was impressed with the cat storage, but the boss looks pretty nice too.

The very rear pocket that goes under the foam is about 7x7x7". I find it a good spot for my tool kit and few other extra tools.

So, in other words, no where near as big as the new Cat seat. I have never understood why Boss doesn't make the big compartment go way up under the seat. Their foam must not be able to support it. They could gain so much room if they did.

IS that about the same as the 09 cat boss seat? I have one on my 07 amd usually stick my lunch and water in there.

Yup, almost exactly the same as the 09 cat boss.

5 lbs when dry. Wait until the stock seat soaks up around 15lbs of water. We have weighed stock seats that were soaked. We weighed a few that were 24-28 lbs. That sir is silly. No bash here, just a FYI.
