BD PG 2 stroke Turbo systems Rock!

I've been riding Reid Hedlunds (Boondockers Canada) latest 2 stroke turbo systems and am absolutely sold on these super snappy, reliable BD PG sleds. Did I just say reliable 2 stroke turbo in the same sentence? SURE DID!
I was one of seven to have a Yami 4stroke back in 04 here in BC and since have built 6 different chassis, never thinking I'd ever go back to a 2 smoker.
The BD PG kits maybe don't make the HUGE yami torque but are very close. They are alot more fun to ride and do make a ton of ultra responsive power.
Don't know alot about the BD box, all's I know is that I never even touched it once in the last three weeks of riding. The latest BD Turbo kits are basically turn key and ride.
Everyone needs to try one of these new systems out. Lag is non existent, you can't even tell that there's a turbo its so crisp, clean and snappy.
I can't wait for this weekend again! Its look'n like a gooder.Cheers all!:beer;

I'm seeing the reliability on other peoples sleds as well,i personally do not have one but do think about it. Climb it's good to hear from a 4 stoker about these two stroke turbos. I'm also seeing a lot of people that thought 4 stroke turbo power was the only way to go getting back into the 2s with turbos and loving it.

Ken where in BC are you? I'm just south of the border in Idaho and thinking heavily about a PG kit for my "wifes" 700 RMK and would love to go for a ride with you.

BD canada is 250 449 2699. Ken there was talk of a revised kit for next year,is this it that you guys are running? Or is this the kit that is on the market already?

i've got 2300 miles on mine this year and its been turn key and go every ride. absalutely love the kit!

the only addition for the two strokes that i've heared of yet is the new boost control system where you select the amount of hp you want and the computer controls your boost levels at all elevations to keep you at that hp range. i will def. have it on my sled this fall!

Electronic waste gate system is not out yet but will be a great addition to a already great kit so along with the Air Density Advantage system you will be able to set your boost and ride without worry as you head up and down the mountain also will have a "push to pass" feature as well.

PM me if you have any questions happy to answer them I like Ken had a boosted 4stroke it worked great but I will not be going back for a good wile.

Thanks.. What is the max boost you can run with the pump gas kit if you running straight race gas. My wife is wanting a PG kit so you know where im coming from with this one. Im liking the idea alot of a ripping new addition in the shop to choose from to ride.

EZ depends on the model of sled.

On the Polaris we are able to go 12+ easy on race gas I ran 8-10 on AV Gas this year without one issue as well. Charge temps get pretty hot 230+ range when you are boosting in the 10+ area so I recommend a mini intercooler with fan if you plan on being in this boost range allot of the time with cooler I see around 70 deg cooler charge temps.

I thinks its pretty much the production kit with some Reid Hedlund tuning. Reids the man when it come to turbo's. I remember back in 89 when he had his Polaris 650 turbo'd and how it blew all our minds. He's the reason Turbo hill in revy got it's name.

i honestly dont know exactly what it maxes out at w/ the pump gas kit running straight race gas on the polaris. i've had mine at 15lbs before and it was awesome! just not needed so i turned it back down. and when it was at 15lbs of boost there was still a couple more turns on the dial left.... pretty sure 15lbs is about as high as she will go though. i've ran mine around 12lbs all year long turned it up a few times and had to turn it down a few times on warm days due to the high intake temps, but since i've snorkled the intake out the hood the charge temps have not been an issue.

I am another one heading back to the 2-stroke turbo just for the fun factor ....without the weight factor ...02 For those in the states If I were living there I would talk to Snow JW. Even NOT living there I might have his kit on my 2-smoke

Wow Ken, this sled sounds like a blast. It would have been a more interesting if you were able to ride a 4 stroke and this sled back to back. I think you have forgotten how much tourque the 4s have.
I rode a D8 at 14 lbs boost on race fuel, and the owner said it was rocking, so naturally I expected something pretty cool. But I have to tell you how dissapointed I was in the performance. The Nytros at 15 lbs were so much faster it was unreal.
I'm sure they seem fast...but compared to what?;)

Neil, I didn't say the 2 strokes have more power they're just more fun to ride. I enjoyed the many years on the T-thumpers, and if my main riding was "Chutes" like your is, I would probably still own one. For one sled that does it all these newer 2 stroke turbo's are hard to beat.

ps: and the back is liking them more too:eek:

They do sound like fun, but If you rode it back to back with a Nytro, I don't think you would think it was "way" more fun.
Contrary to popular belief, we spend most of our riding in the trees. When you ride in Revy, the majority of the days are fogged in so trees it is, and we love it. Veedy has a ton of over the windshield tree riding footy this year, but not sure if much of it will make Boost 4 because of the low light. Also contrary to popular belief...turbo yammies rock in the trees. tourque rules!!:D

Cheers
