Warm up setting aren't that big of a deal to set compared to what you get with a programmable ECU

i will have an autronic installed in my 08 impulse nytro this spring(may 09).while my sled was running like crap, i took it to my tuner and we took all measurments and recorded all data so we can install a standalone. the wiring is already done just need to tune on the dyno. with the autronic, i will need to installed a cam sensor for timming detection by ecu(was easy to do). i will let you all know in may!!!! i have already sunk 3000$ in the wiring development but next season everybody will be able to run their sled and not messing around with purelogic box.

i will let you know what kinda standalone we will make a wiring harness for.

here is a link to my tuner(chag autosports.com)

stock ecu gone, its not real hard to build a cold start program, fan idle step, but the gains are well worth it. Specially when you can use higher voltage ignition.

Its nice to have someone in here who knows these systems better than most and have actually been around and used them before and know their capabilities!!!! (tntm7, supraturbo, astro) Its trying to convince the people that dont have the entire understanding of how these systems work and their huge capabilities that could transform our sleds and make them run better than ever, cleaner and crisper, with no more tuning because of elevation, temp, boost changes DAY IN AND DAY OUT! The market is overpopulated with people who just settle for a crappy running 20, 30 and even 40 thousand plus dollar sled with just a simple box that you dont wanna get wet and are forced to carry a spare!

I think the RB3 made a believer out of some and made some others turn their heads, its a better system (capabilities wise with 3d mapping and ignition mods) as far as some of the other options out there but is still no where close to what we need for our sleds! We need simple tuning mode to get initial base maps setup while using lambda/02 for EACH INDIVIDUAL SLED since no 2 are exactally identical, thats a biggie that I see with the RB3, one map works good for one sled with X brand turbo kit but not for the other thats setup almost the same way, also the moisture issues, and higher boost limitations.

Like I said these systems wouldnt be for everybody but would still be for the masses IMO.

Default Stand alone EFI

A true stand alone system is take out stock ECU and replace with stand alone which is very expensive.
Can aftermarket companies build a better ECU to run all the maps in a stand alone for temperature, fuel gauge warning lights and there is so many things going on in stock ECU that it's not just about fuel and timing.
Piggy back systems have been around for a long time.
Can a Boondocker, Dobeck and many others out there do a good job and be reliable?
First the guy that builds the fuel curves inside the EFI box has to know how to make a program that can be adjusted by customers or not be able to adjust to much.
When your pushing buttons on a Dobeck box the program can be setup so you as customers can only adjust a certain set amount.
Stock ECU's have a few map systems that all work together and Injectors drivers and ignition fuctions as well.
How fast is the ram chips and how much memory do these boxes have?
I am no expert but I am learning everyday more about EFI as I try to catch up to guys that have the smarts to build this stuff.
I don't think the average sledder needs to know or wants to know how a ECU is built and programed.
Yamaha and other companies spend a few hundred thousand on a ECU and there engineers are smarter then me for sure.
Why would anyone run 2 systems? (Rapid bike/Dobeck)
Problem is they don't know enough on how to setup load and map sensor voltage in the program.
Rapid Bike 1 is a fuel only system that still is based on a proper map that the user builds. Rapid bike 2 and 3 have Ignition timing control as well other options like switch map etc.
Rapid bike has fast chips and can pull fuel with bigger injectors etc.
It's close to having a stand alone but without the expense.

We now have Tuning bike that when setup properly can build a map for a set A/F at any RPM or load(boost) we want.
Runs on closed loop while building the map on dyno or out in real world riding.
Closed loop systems like on most cars are for up to 80% only as most are runing on map system at wide open so you won't hurt a engine if something goes wrong.
Closed loop only adjust a small percentage while driving.
Hope this clears up some questions about EFI and piggy back or stand alone systems.
