Boondock Injured Riding today...

Boondock hurt his back pretty bad today going off a medium sized drop. Ended the weekend of sledding as we took him to the hospital. :eek:

Turns out he fractured his 11 and 12 verts with 50 percent compression. He will be like a 1/2" shorter for ever! He will be in a back brace for the next 6-8 weeks and it is hitting him pretty hard. They have admitted him overnight, hopefully just for 1 day.

He is a young guy and will heal up but it is a reality check as to what can happen in an instant.

He came in level and landed fine but still took a hard jar to the back sending him into instant pain. I have it on video and will post it up later.

Please keep him in your thoughts and hope for a speedy recovery!

Get well Kurtis it won't be the same out there with out you!

We were hoping for the best, the drop didn't look bad at all. Made for a long trip home. Get well soon Kurtis. You know we will help you in any way needed.:(
 
That sucks hoping for a speedy recovery!!!! Got crushed about 10 years ago broke my pelvis in 6 places, broke the right side clear off was picking up the new sled that next mourning. Happened on 11-4-99 was in a wheel chair fir 3 months was riding again by 3-4-00. All I could think about was riding again. Was a great motivation to get back in shape. So think snow and good luck!!!!! Like reading your posts and looking at all the cool pics!!
 
Just talked to Boondock and he is doing good with morphine running thru his veins. :rolleyes:

Good prognosis from the doc and said it was the best of the back injuries to have. If you got to have one that is. Recover should be pretty much 100% so he dodged a good one there.
 
Damn that sucks:(, All i can do for ya is hope for a speedy recovery Kurtis:beer;....if it makes ya feel better i got towed out again, yup two days in a row, 3 for the season...well i hope it makes ya smile if you read this buddy, because im not smiling one bit:mad:

Mine wasn't a crush, it was from landing flat on my back.

Crushing breaks are bad news. I feel for ya.


It may take some time, but Get off those ****ing pain meds as soon as you can.
