Sweet sled....I was thinking the same thing about the bar riser unless you are going to grass drag that puppy!

Come on Hatch...

If I was to build that sled...I definately would not use the tra. I would probably opt for the supreme tool or maybe the polar (if ydpc gives it the stamp).

I know the tra can be made to work, heck, it works like a champ on mine...but not easy to find an awesome "all around" setup. I would like to "try" something else on that sled if it were me...

Speaking of that sled....NICE! Ill take one, but supercharged please :):)

Very nicely put together!...even with a tra :)

we have to try the tra because that is what everybody gets when they buy one of these babies. If it dont work we will try something else. Maybe our tricks will work. so we have to try. This dog sounds way cool. will be riding her this weekend.

best kit out there side mounted 66 areo charger only kit not putting wieght on the nose and offseting balance of sled plus 66 is most powerful turbo out there:D:D

oh look, its a loaded question from a bonelicker....gave you some red:beer;

Better red than dead.

Clutching is a real problem. Polar is installing their 4 post units on sleds back east, any feedback?

The 800R in my sled died, had a mild squeak on the side that had a busted RAVE valve, so haven't rode for a month. BRP just came through with a complete short block to be installed soon.

So don't mind me if I pick on the 1200 a bit, or provoke someone, just finding out what the next ride is going to need for set up.

Dude all imput is good. We don't profess to know all. We look for as much input as possible. we will try our bag of tricks first and then go to a bigger clutch. We just dont want to add more money to the kit. If we dont have to.

Yes the kit is a side mount Aero. It should work great and produce some good numbers. The only thing that i wish is i could do, is move the battery to the clutch side to balance the 17 pound difference a little more.

We will post costs here sortly. We are taking pre orders now.

What cost sould we try to hit? please be honest. :)

Lets see some vid!!!!!! Then maybe you will get some more orders. Seeing your sled run should be a big sales tool!

I have the tra and now a tra3 on my pro stock rev turbo running 5.5's at 124 + on ice and have seen no issue launching at 5-8 psi boost.

This is a 1.1-low 1.2 second 60 footing sled. The tra design of a fixed ramp vs the fixed roller design is where the issue really is.

The fixed ramp has a weakness in that the amount of moment that can be created at one of the the swing cannot be present at the other end of the swing.
In laymans terms, get it to run hard on top and it will slip the belt bad down bottom, get it to squeeze hard down low and it has the levers swung out to far to fully shift on top.
This is exacerbated by increases in torque without increase in rpm. when the tra is asked to handle high torque at low rpm it is being put outside its design window for range of belt squeeze vs travel.

an example is this sled of ours.
I need .060 under the govenor cup to get enough squeeze force (not shift force ) to keep from sliiping at launch, I also need 122 in the chaincase at 1 to 1 due to the loss of shift force at the 1 to 1 and higher ranges.

If I were to go to a flyweight design I could get the proper grip at launch by virtue of an additional weight and have enough range of functional swing left in the weight to pull the full range of the shift curve.

I'm with you on testing with the tra's as it is stock. I also see no reason other than closed minded ness... to belive for 200-250 hp of trail riding that the clutch, not the nieve tuners are the issue.

use you head on gear ratios and you will be fine, just remeber to keep it fun.
