06 M chassis w/ 07 1000 and turbo pics...

06 vanamburg/fabcraft/holz M chassis w/ 07 1000 and ovs turbo pics... now for sale?

now for sale? check the bottom.... would trade in ???

lots of guys have been asking if it can be done over the last couple months... finally got done and finally got pics...

turned out pretty good... no problems with the motor or turbo, hit a stump on the first day out on it and wrecked the oil resevoir, oil pump and fuel pressure reg., got that fixed and found the track would bottom out in the tunnel when its really cranked up... dropped the skid down an inch in the rear and built some guards over the cooler hoses and flange so i think i got that bug fixed.

everything seems to be working real well and WOW is this thing a handful!

That thing is freakin bad a$$!! any idea what the difference is in weight between your monster and the 2007-2009 TM1000's? Nice build I bet that sucker is a BLAST hope you have a great season on her.

thanks guys... its a blast to ride.

the 11" secondary works great... but i've never rode any other m1000 turbo with the stock setup so i cant say if its better or not, only that it works great.

i would guess it weighs about 450-455 dry as my 1100 (700 based) stroker with twins weighed 426 dry built the EXACT same way less the holz front end and fabcraft spindles so a 30ish lb gain i assume is fairly accurate.

the diamond drive setback is something mike at vanamburg does himself... send him your bulkhead and for about another $800 bucks he sets it back 2" and gives you all sorts of clearance along with your tunnel installed to your bulkhead. you could easily run a 3".. i have close to about 2.5-3" of room in the front from lug tip (2.25) to cooler... lil less up top but a 3" would fit none the less.

i have had it out west once over new years with a lil stump mishap that put me down for 2 days so not alot of timeat elevation but i do have 100 miles or more on it down at 1500ft lake and trail riding (fun fun, atleast we do have a few feet of snow here this year so its not THAT bad) and at 14lbs boost down here running about 114 it seems to be fine. i need to adjust my turbo though so its closer to 8lbs down here and can turn it up to 14lbs with the boost controller. right now its 11lbs up high and can turn it to 18lbs.

i did shot peen the crank, trued and welded it so i think i oculd run 16lbs and have it live fairly safe out west, 18lbs would be pushing it i think... anyone know?

thanks

thanks....

been gettin pm's about what it takes to do the conversion...

first let me say this, jeff at dakota performance did the work, i've done engine conversions before and i just didnt have the time to do this one and a turbo was getting installed at the same time so i just had jeff do it all.

on top of that, the chassis was already together otherwise i would have NEVER tackled this deal, its not an easy project and it does actually take alot of parts. you would be money ahead by buying a used m1000 and doing a tunnel/skid/aftermarket whatever down the road.

for the parts list you will need...

engine, all wiring, ecu, ccu, throttle bodies all go without saying. the odd stuff would be mag side motor mounts that need to be mounted in place, lower engine mount, pto side mount/plate, upper bulkhead support on pto side, steering post, found it easiest to buy the wiring harness off the 1000 handlebars and wire them into my bars so it was more "plug and play", fuel pump, i'm sure there are a few other things i'm forgetting to list, i'll add more as i think of it.

D&D makes a kit, it was $550, i'm not sure if you get everything you need with that but i went the more difficult route and tried to piece it all together... mighta just been easier to go with the kit.

jeff mounted the motor past square a lil and under load it squares up perfectly. clutches stay nice and cool.

That is the best AOA I've ever seen...impressive. Nice work. Mike's skid handle the wheelie?

Brock,

Im in love!!! That has to be the sweetest M mod I have seen!...congrats on a nice build! Be nice to see a vid or two of you rippin some pow on that beast! Ride Safe!:beer;

ya, the AOA is great... gets up on top very fast. the suspension helps with that. i am still working on the skid setup a lil but it seems to be working well, it gets up fast and holds the skis foot or so off the snow which i cant ask for much more. it does like to tail stand alot when you hit a bump in a climb which is hard to get away from with the turbo but i dropped the rear of the skid about an inch now so that should help some with ski pressure/wheelie.

as far as the sweetest... there is a carbon fiber m1200 turbo floating around on here that is wicked nice, along with many others. thanks though.

headin to meh-hico in a week and going to head back out west in march sometime, hopefully can get some video and will post it up!

I swear the steering post flexed back 6" when the boost kicked in on that thing. Not sure if it's all that power or my fat azz, but she's an arm puller for sure. I keep telling you I'll put the break in miles on her before March!

Johnsie, I'm betting the track speed's a tad better than the XP.;) Couldn't tell ya though was hanging on too tight to look!:D
