i have a 08 d7 twin racepipes shaved head 10thou attitude fuel box, i was rideing yesterday i climbed a kinda long hill on and off the throttle i come 3/4s of the way down to help a buddy who was stuck turned up the hill wot for about 20-30ft started missing kept it pinned for about another 5 feet so didnt roll it and it died pulled the roap it seized , i pulled out my clutch side plug to discover aluminum and antifreez all over it pulled the other plug and perfect brown color no aluminum nothing,

what do you guys think went wrong i think if it was detonating it would have did it on the longer pull i didnt hear it ping or nothing maybe i sucked in snow i have no idea

Due to the antifreeze being in there unless the piston grenaded hard I would guess you blew an O-ring and the antifreeze is what caused the seizure. Hard to tell without pics.

With that set up how much race fuel you using. I run a set up like that. But my head is not cut. And i run no less than 50-50. You might need more race fuel. Who did your motor/pipes? Also what oil are you using?

When i bought my sled i call SLP and asked about fuel oil, types and what not. They said VES gold and 112 race fuel.

strait av i have put almost 400miles on it and i have done longer pulls than that with it with no problem, the thing that leads me away from it being detonation is that it should of cooled off quite a bit before i got to the bottom off the hill then it was wot for about 25-30ft and thats when it seized

iam sure its something i did to it i was just hopeing somebody would say it wasnt my fault:D lol but iam trying to learn from it but i dont know what happend and i dont want to tear it apart wait for polaris to do that

does polaris test the fuel i used maybe i should drain it and put some race fuel in lol:confused:

It was deto. for sure, the hill planted the seed. As the piston expanded and started rubbing the cyl wall it started the seizing process and it can easily happen after the load on the motor is gone. Ask me how I know. :mad:

How do you know????:d

Nobody likes a smart ***!

He still had anti-freeze in the cylinder though. I would like to see what it looks like after it's tore apart. The tops of my pistons were ate away real bad, but never siezed. (They were my pipes)

yeah iam waiting for polaris to tear it apart iam sure it was detonation well hopefully they will get me two new pistons and new head or maybe a 860bb that would be sweet:D:beer;

I just went a looked another 700 that died this last weekend. He has 1700+ miles on it and he stopped using race fuel and it went boom. Why he stopped i have no clue. He didnt give me an answer.
