Little DooBEE - Project Sled

Well I guess I needed a project sled, started as a 2005 Rev 600 144.
Stock weight 478. Hope to get it close to 400 lbs., don't think I can get it that low, but we'll see. I am about 50% complete, the motor will take the rest of the time.

Finished the suspension today. Combo of Timbersled Mtn. Tamer, Custom IceAge Rails & Rear Axle, and SLYDOG 8 inch Big Wheels, and SLP Hiperfax's.

Stock Rev 144 suspension = 60 lbs.
TS-Iceage suspension = 35 lbs. complete.

Stock Rev 144 x 2.0 track = 58 lbs.
XP 146 Powdermax = 50 lbs.

HPS can = -9.0 lbs.
Slydog Ski's = -1.5 lbs.
Ceramic coated pipe = -4.0 lbs.
Lose stock taillight = -5 lbs.
Lose sway bar = -4.0 lbs.
Misc. parts = -2.0 lbs.
XP bumper = -1.5 lbs.

Total = 60 lbs., hmmmmm, don't know where to get another 18 lbs., but I guess 418 should doo nicely.

Pics of the TS-Iceage Suspension.

Changed all blue body parts, bumper, Trunk, hood and panels (Thanx Jeeper!).

On the panels I installed 2CoolAirVents in bottom, knee and front for airflow. And an SLP cold air intake.

Can someone tell me if the pics work now?

Thanx BCB, I was going to do a lightweight seat, but I made the decision that all the lightweight seats are a big waste of $$$, especially if purchasing for weight loss, I liked the last 2 BOSS seats I had, but now a days, it chaps my behind when it takes $550 for a 4 lb. weight loss, that's about $140 per pound, the stock Doo seat weighs 10 lbs. by my scales, and it goes well with my "BEE" black & yellow theme.

I will be gettting the hood & windshield back from LB Designs, Shane Landon next weds, it incorporates the musclebee depicted in the shock covers, WOW does he doo good work!

I have always wanted to build a reliable small bore, lightweight sled with all the good aftermarket parts out there. Hopefully it runs as well as I expect it to, and should get exceptional fuel economy. With the HP & Torque specs, it should hang with any 800 on there market, we'll see, I will report the results during the season. It will be raced in the COOKE City Shootout.

Still to come...........
Motor - SHR 700HO :D
V-Force III.
SHR Primary.
TEAM Secondary.
DIGITRON 2 window Pyro's.
BETTERBOARDS
3 inch riser.

Stock bumper was ugly and heavy, I got a XP bumper, but it does require drilling different holes, and of course, the XP bolt threads are different than the 05 Rev bolts, so buy XP bumper bolts if you doo this. While I had it off, I buffed the tunnel, LOL, I said I'd never doo that again, but I am happy witht the results.

I was looking at the pic of your wheels, and correcet me if im wrong, but the "fan blades" in the rear wheels are supposed to blow air out of the skid. I cant tell for shure, but looks like they're facing in. seems to me that it would just pack a bunch of snow in the skid. Not to call ya out or anything, I'm just thinking about you wanting to stay lightweight here. Sounds like its gonna be a kick a$$ sled! wish i had the funds for a suspension like that!:beer;

Yeah, $550 is alot for a high rise seat 'cept my old legs and back needed a treat.

Nice job on the 600/700. Sledding is an expensive but rewarding hobby:D

Heck, I have no idea, I will check and thanx for pointing that out, no offense taekn, thats why I posted this stuff, to share what I know and learn more, thanx again!

I was thinking pretty hard on buying a Boss or equivilent "light weight" seat but when I weighed my stock '06 adrenaline summit seat cut the same way the XRS and 440 race seats, it was 6.4lbs not including the trunk... Seems like a lot of money to waste on a boss seat for the minimal loss of weight to me. I just wish it was 3" taller.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the suspension set you back? That is a good weight loss. I have been think about an XP, but a project would be a lot more personal.
Tom

what are you doing with the motor? when can we see more of the sled? looks sweet! I like the project sled build. rode my buddies xp last year and liked the stance of my 06 better. instead of buying anything new i'll just keep buyin $hit for my 06! let's see more pics of yours

Yeah, I always wanted to see how the 734 (or 738? as it is now) would do in a Rev chassis.
I think it'd eat up some clutched, stock bore 800s.

And it was VERY good on fuel, which I sorta miss.

I have the same identical sled and dont like how the ski's perform. Have you had any seat time with those ski's on other sleds? If so, your thoughts.....

Haven't looked at pulling off big weight yet but I do have the BBK from B.J., Dyno port pipe/can, 8 inch wheels and 2 1/4" track off an 06 summit
