clutch setup 07 800r

First clean your clutches and make sure your rollers are good. Get a primary spring in the 200/350 or 185/410 range. In the secondary go with the stiffest spring doo sells, I can't remember the colors but it is in the shop manual. Go ahead and get the floating secondary kit, it doesn't cost much but it helps. Make sure everything is clean and working right, reassemble the whole deal and ride it like you stole it.

Pin weight to run in clicker 3 or 4 if your moter will pull it.

Make sure all updates are done, your shop should be able to do all of this if you can't.

I am running a 44/40 helix but this should work with a straight 44.

I am also running a 20t top gear but try it with the 21.

This setup has been working for me up to 10K.

Well, I wish I could give you exact specifics but here is what I have after a night of self medication....I worked my way up the spring weights under the premise that heavier pin weights moves the clutches a bit more. I tried to find the spring with widest differential and ended up with a 350/460 or something like that. Used BJ's clutch kit on the secondary. It works really really well in semi firm snow....oodles of upshift and backshift that will work as an engine break. But like most clutches, after lots and lots of powder it ends up bouncing and you have to click up. I don't believe I have tried the new cap but I know I did get good after market rollers.

I also used a TRAIII for a few weeks and it worked really well. Lots of low end grunt and didn't have the heat problems. But after a while I decided to go back to more punishment working on the TRAVII. I think the next change for me would be in the secondary helix....I am not sure what angle BJ's kit is so its hard to know where to go.

Thats all I got. Just wish I could ride....think I'll go eat worms:(

More than likely the bushing in both primary and secondary are junk, and possibly the primary rollers. those have to be good before any clutching will work.
I prefer the Team secondary on my '07 as it's more durable in the bushing area.
For our heavier Wa snow, I like a 44/36 helix, stock secondary spring, 160/290 primary and whatever weight it takes to get 8300rpm on a climb.
Team secondary setup is totally different.
