Here is the start of my IQR build, I've been working on it since the spring and have finally gotten to the point where its starting to come together. A big thanks to Shannon Reitan/Winter on here for the phenomal job he did on my tunnel and bulkhead and for walking me through the selection of parts and other tricky areas.

Engine is a Flannery prepped XCR 800 engine fitted with LRM pipes.

Skid is a 162 Ez Ryde

I am still traveling towards home with this thing so there will be no progress in regards to assembly for a week or so. Once home the steering post and hoop need to be powdercoated, after that assembly begins.

Still need to fabricate the arirbox and locate everything in the chassis for best layout.

Here are a few pics of the progress so far

Thanks for the compliments guys. I think everyone and their mother saw my sled at LRM, Larry says they were a pain to get in there, bit he did an awesome job. Sled will be back at LRM in mid December for Dynoing depending on Larry's schedule.

Any one know a good ceramic coating place? I need to get these pipes coated.

Wow, nice sled.
I have comment on the pipes, VERY, VERY nice, some of the best I have seen. A work of art. I like the pipe design, please post how she rips!!!!

Rugland is a friggen magician when it comes to pipes and fitting them.

Truer words have not been spoken! It was a long hard road, more than once I recieved a call from Larry to vent on me about the fitment crap sandwich I delivered. It took a little longer than expected, but I think it was well worth the wait.

I'll post more piictures this week of the airbox fabrication and more assembly pics.

More progress. Sorted out what carb boots to use, what air fitlers etc. Started to mock up the Airbox and place the ignition and oil tank into their proposed locations. I built my first mock up out of cardboard and will be completing the final one with black ABS plastic.

Carb plate:

Throttle side plate (will also hold the CDI)

The top plate, carb plate and PTO sides will be removable for fast and easy access to the carbs. The airbox will draw cold air from the console area. I used 1/4" ABS plastic for all pieces, should be thick enough that it does not transmit heat from the engine to the areas I am drawing air from.

I also started test fitting the front end.

Here are some continuing progress pics.

The perimiter cooling mod:

Air box pictures. this actually took about 15 hours of fabrication and 3 total trys to get what I wanted. The air box removes/installs in about 30 seconds and will only use 1 bungee on the PTO side to hold it all in place. A huge thanks to my brother Aaron on this one. He took my simple 4 piece design and turned it into a work of art with 4 changes.
