We are just starting to build Dan Davidoff's next Turbo Cat for 2009 and are starting with a well worn 2008 M8 with a freshened engine, Twisted Turbo system with the larger 3071 turbo and Shain is going to personally assist in installing, Timbersled rear skidframe setup for hillclimbing (new Float calibrations for 09), Diamond lite drive , all Red/White paint, powder and plastic (representing Canada, Dan and our business all at the same time). Still deciding on what front suspension and which tunnel to run and haven't yet decided on 162 or 174 or we may just use 162 rail with extensions and have both tracks switchable. Any feedback from you guys and suggestions on performance add-ons is appreciated and any negative feedback on this project will be ignored. Dan is still looking for a few more sponsors for this project and any proposals can be directed to me by PM or Dan at his Krazy Canadian website http://www.krazycanadian.com/

Good Mods

Well I ran a 174" track all of last year (700 miles) and I geared it down to the M8 gears and I wont go back. It does push a little harder on the hardpack but everywhere else it dominates, it is amazing how awesome you can creep around in the fluff and I have a M1000, that M8 will be great. It took me hardly no time to get used to the difference and I think Dan might be almost as good of a rider as me. Ha Ha!!

powderclaw

I have an 2009 m8 with the 162 powerclaw track at my buddies house and we were ripping on the grass with it and we have mixed opinions on this track. When you punch it out of the hole it grabs hard for the first 30 ft and then it spins quite a bit almost as if it loses traction and then it grabs hard and pulls like a freight train, the new 800 feels strong but it did this 3 times in a row for me and makes me wonder. HMMM I realize snow is different but I am only expessing our early experiences so far. It is hard to beat the good old challenger track.

Sorry dude but you cannot compare grass to snow as far as track performance is concerned. The powerclaw proved it on the snow last year that it was tons better than the challenger track especially in the powder. This new track floats tons better and climbs much better in the loose snow and still does very well in the hardpack. Read the reviews in the new snowest magazine on how they felt about the powerclaw track, it is a testament to its design.

Can't wait to see Dan on a t/m sled. They handle so well and the guy has bowling balls for...............well you know. Should be another good year for the Thunderstuck vid in early 09.

be sure to post pics when its done by the way!

Brian! If I were rich I would help you guys finish Dan's sled! Anyone considering helping Dan & Brian out you can't go wrong! Dan's turbo last year ran better than anybody else I rode with that had that set up. The thing that impressed me most was Dan just could pull the rope & go! There was no tweaking, turning or dialing! Brian did an outstanding job on the installation of Dan's M8 last season.

Dan is excellent at promoting products on & off the snow.

Brian is right up there with being one of the most accomplished Cat Mechanics out there! When I wrecked my sled last season, Brian preformed miracles to get it out!!!! He could look at my sled & know at a glance everything that I messed up!!!! (there was alot too & between him & Turbo Al they had me on the snow the next DAY!)It was greatly appreciated!

Thankyou Brian & Dan...if I can help in any way w/in my abilities...feel free to always ask!

Thanks Amber, look forward to riding with you again this year. Loved the way you got ride back on and rode and took the whole thing as part of the sport, that crash would have freaked out a lot of other people I know. What are you riding this year?

Thanks Brian! Trust me, I had jello jiggling in my belly for a bit that weekend!
I can't wait to come back though, hopefully we can ride your neck of the woods, I really like Castlegar! Don't forget you are always welcome down here!

As for my ride this season I am on the 'Mini Cougar' (M1000) again for the year & coaching my clinics on the M8. Budd has the M1000 all fixed up & look'n better than ever with a few new Mods, a Speedwerx Powder pro can, Timbersled intake, a mesh hood (for those Canada trips;)), Y pipe, fuel control box, & a wicked Arctic FX wrap (disco baby!). We almost have it wrapped up per say(LOL) & I will have pictures. Will you be at the Spokane Show? It will be in the 509 booth. How's Pat? Tell him Hi for me!

I am pretty sure that Dan's turbo m sled last year had a BD kit on it. It will be interesting to see if the twisted works as well?

We'll definitely keep this post updated with pictures as we go along... 174 inch track,, Terra alps chassis.. Mountain Mod light weight seat... Timber sled skid with Ice age rails.. Need skis??? Simmons or Slydog,, any suggestions...I've used both, and like them both.. The Slydog skis sure looked good on last season M800..

Dan,

I'm running the Twisted turbo on mine with the 174" track as well. I opted for the simmons genII's and feel that I made the right choice. With the bigger track and the bigger ski's my ride just floats on top, even in the bottomless fluff!

174 is most likely the way we are going to go but we may have 2 different sleds from our shop for Dan to ride as we are adding an M1000 to our project line and haven't yet decided on how it will look as a final ride but Dan can make any sled look good. Looks to be a good year.

So is this thing going to be ready by November 9-10?
