to the best of my knowledge to original single ring piston like the ones that came in the 08's and 09's are no longer available. you will only be able to get the dual ring piston through polaris. you probably can get a single through weisco or spi though. if you want a turbo based single ring piston then you need to get in touch with Carls Cycle Sales in boise, ID. Jack had polaris make him a batch of thicker land single ring pistons specifically for higher horse power applications.

2203606 is the part number for the 700 single ring pistons from the 08 and up 700 cfi's . Also Contact Freeagent on here to get them, it WILL be worth your time, and tell her I sent ya .
I think JKinzer is referring to the single ring pistons for the 800 cfi and I'm pretty sure he's right on those, however I''m positive the 700 single ring pistons are still available, they are still using them in the 2010 700 RMK.

I'm pretty sure the 2010 700's are dual ring pistons... Kinzer works in the parts dept of a Polaris dealership...
He is correct about the Elko cast pistons thru Carl's though.... $154 each for the 800CFi. only.
They are the same as the new piston... with a single ring and thicker lands.
There may still be some of the single ring 700CFi pistons on the shelves... I didn't see any parts recall/exchange order for the dealerships.

I just ordered one from Michelle and she had to order it from the factory, so they still have them.
I know the parts fiche on the Polaris website can sometimes be incorrect but they are showing the single ring piston on the 2010 700.
Also the single ring 700 piston will go in the 07's without an issue.
Neither SPI nor Wieseco are currently producing an off the shelf piston for the 700 CFI

Have there been many piston failures on the 700/800 turbo motors? I haven't read about any yet, just curious because I have a turbo on the way, finally.

i was thinking of the 800, my bad. heres a few pics of the break downs for the seven, according to polaris if you want a single ring you order a new piston for an 09, o 2010. if you want dual you order for 07,08 both pistons are still available
heres the 09/10

and 07/8

I ran the stock single ring all last season without a single problem at 12-14lbs. However, I am running Carl's Cycle new piston this season.....just one more reason to turn her up even more

I have the new heavy duty single ring piston for the 800cfi on order as well but as of Fri when I called there was nothing for the 700 at this point in time other than the Polaris single ring for the 700.
Duel rings are fine but if you want to push the limits on octane and boost it's hard to beat a good single ring for the extra strength in the ring land area.

Will do, same part number as my last spare that I ordered which is the same 08 Piston as what's in my sled, so it damn well better be the same or I'll have a mismatched set. I don't expect any difference since none of the parts fieche listings show an updated part number.
