I ran the 3211111 belt last year with no issues..but have since gone to the 3211115 belt..i have a 3211080 for a spare gethome now belt...
i have heard some using the 809 belt, and the gates belts...but IMO...its not worth messing with and trying cheaper belts..just to save a buck on buying the 115 belt..
the ONLY want i would run a diff belt...which would ONLY be a 0808 belt..is if you have the TM crank, comfusion mounts, and a balanced clutch...otherwise..i will only run the 115 belt on my 900 and my wifes 06 700...

I have been running the 3211080 on my 975 with no problems.
3211080 $80
3211111 $165
3211115 $179
What do I gain for $100 with a 111 or the 115?

Same 3211115 for the last 2 years but I have an 809 for both my sled and my wife's Dragon when it's time to replace. Have a friend that runs the 809 on his 05 900 with no problems

When the 900s came out, they were destroying the 080 belts on a significant scale. The 1111 and later the 1115 were created to withstand the massive torque and heat generated from these higher output sleds. As has been said before, blowing a belt on a factory 900 crank is VERY bad for it, if it even withstands the initial attack, its life has been severely limited by the extreme shock force given under WOT.
If you can get 1,000 miles on an 080 belt it sounds like everything is spot on and working perfectly, but many sleds will simply eat them for one reason or another and the 1115 was designed to be that much tougher.

Been running the 115 on my turbo (awesome belt but not $150+ awesome) but going to the Gates Xtreme this year. (great belt and found them for $43)
I know this has been said a hundred times but it's the truth. Keep in mind EVERYONE that the clutch tuning and specificly Shimming to the correct sheeve side clearance and alignment is the single biggest factor in belt life. Any of these belts mentioned so far will live for the long haul if the aformentioned tuning items are addressed.
If this was not true than the idea of a 350 hp turbo apex being able to run a full day on one belt wouldn't be possible. Nor would the 500+ hp turbo drag sleds that launch on 10+ psi of boost and 100% traction be able to get off the line. food for thought.

Another issue is that the other belts listed are good and they work they are just not as durable as far as the actual product goes. It is when the belt explodes on you; climbing, boondocking or whatever it puts a lot of stress on the crank...which we all know we dont want for these 900. the 3211115 belt has a lot less chance of exploding....or so Ive been told....thats what your paying for....

I'd give the Ultimax belts a try. Plus you get a 1 year warranty!
Here's what is says on the Carlisle website:
Carlisle offers a one year warranty on all snowmobile belts. Please be sure to complete the information found on the back of the belt sleeve and include the failed belt, a check or money order for $10.00 US or $10.00 CDN to cover postage and handling as well as proof of purchase (sales receipt or dealer invoice). Ship to Carlisle Snow Belts– 2601 West Battlefield Road – Springfield, MO 65807. In Canada, ship to Carlisle Snow Belts - 6124 Shawson Drive - Unit A - Mississauga, Ontario L5T 1E6

yes a warranty is good...but it will only cover your belt..not your crank!!!!!
you can run whatever belt you feel will work...but like XC stated..clutch maintenance, tension, gearing....will be the overall factor of belt performance and longevity...
