New for this season we will be using a different material in the a arm department. Docol R8 is something that has been around for several years but is used mostly in the racing Industry. Some of the benefits include 10 to 15% stronger, safe non-brittle break mode meaning it does not tend to crack when bent like 4130 does. Docol was engineered to provide a stronger more consistent alternative to 4130 tube. Be sure to check the website we have other new products for the axys chassis most of which is in stock or will be in the next 4-6 weeks. No worries. Yes working on getting the website updated in the next couple weeks. The rear torque arm and shock rod are different on the axys. Those jigs are done and parts are cut for them. Also we have the a arms in stock now and have the jig done for the new pitman arm. The pitman is basically a completely different piece. It has a saddle bent in the middle and the mounting brackets are in different locations. The bend really complicated things because I insisted on using the grade 9 Titanium instead of the soft malable grade 2.

sorry I see I didn't answer this! My 36" moly kit is just about a wash with the axys arms, but still 1/4# lighter. Ti arms 3# lighter if you run the aluminum upper rod end kit. Tie rods are aluminum. Again I apologize for not noticing until now that I didn't reply....not like me.

Here is a little bit of info sharing on Dan's products that I decided to try out this year:

- Ti wear bars: 12.7oz (both stock skag/carbides brand new without being installed on PDI: 1lb 11.1 oz) -14.4oz

- Ti ski bolts with Ti bushings, no spacers: 6.8oz (both stock with stock bushings, no spacers: 15.4oz) -8.6oz

- Front End Ti bolt kit w/ upper/lower shock mounts, lower a-arm to spindle & Ti bushings, a-arm studs with lower front bolt, upper rod end links & Ti bushings: 1lb 5.6oz (stock 2lb 1.5oz) -11.9oz

- 36" Ti upper with pivot bushings, no pivot shafts: 8.6oz (stock upper with ball joint, pivot bushings, no pivot shafts 1lb 4.9oz) -12.3oz each

- 36" Ti lower with sway bar mount, pivot bushings, no pivot shafts: 1lb 2.9oz (stock lower with bearing, pivot bushings, no pivot shafts: 2lb 13.6oz) -26.7oz each

- 36" kit tie rods: 4.5oz (stock tie rods: 9.4oz) -4.9oz

- 36" upper aluminum rod ends with jam nut x2, lower steel rod ends with jam nut x2: 1lb 2.3oz)

Overall for the 36" kit (accounting for rod ends) and Dan's large front end Ti kit, I shed approximately 6lb 3.5oz.

Rear skid Ti bolt and torque arm kit still to go on with stock W.E. piggybacks.

Scale measurements off a kitchen scale, take them as you may.

And the kits come ready to go, I don't need any of my stock parts, i.e. ball joints, to install?

Also, the Axys 36" front utilizes the stock shocks correct?

Give Dan a call or email, not sure how often he checks in here. Ordered mine Friday, he shipped same day. Installed last night, very easy. You do not use the stock parts (outside of a few Bolts, nuts and washers) as long as you order his steering rods, otherwise you have to cut yours.

They are. Pretty limited at least for now on 39'', but I have a ton of everything expected back from the coater any day. Most of the guys seem to be going with the 36'' and I was a bit surprised until I rode one. Very stable considering the axys platform. Still gives you that narrow squeeze between advantage when needed. I sent a set to Burandt a couple weeks ago and he had pretty much the same response. Either way I have em both 36 and 39''. Both kits come with absolutely EVERYTHING. They are a direct swap over, the only thing you reuse are the two nuts and bolts that attach the lower arm to the spindle, as long as you order the 36'' kit with steering tie rods. you can save $35.00 by shortening yours. The 39'' kit is cheaper because you do not need to replace tie rods. We also have the new titanium stud for attaching the upper arms to the spindle. They work pretty slick compared to the way we were doing it. That stud comes as standard hardware with ALL kits. Thanks!

Haven't seen the ski wear bars, are these using bolts to hold on, or welded studs? When I read your post sounds like bolts and bushings to go down in size from the ski holes? Thanks Mike

The TI wear bars for the Gripper skis use a welded stud, which has a shoulder to center it in the hole in the ski. Should be a pic on here, if not I'll post one. FWIW

Here is the pic Dan posted in another thread of the Skidoo Pilot TI wear bars. The Grippers wear bars are very similar but have three studs per bar and the 3 studs are perpendicular to the bar instead of the Canadian inspired angle, Eh.

Wear bars are direct bolt in replacements, same length everything.

(Install isn't complete yet, don't mind the left ski, tierod or camber/toe)

Lookin good Brian! I haven't been there for awhile but if your still thinking shocks check the swap meet section for a set of used raptors or evols. Especially in the rear those two brands you can't hurt and can be freshened up for a fraction of what it would cost for new as long as the initial purchase is reasonable. Huge difference in the rear as far as performance you can undoubtedly notice. The rear torque arm on the axys is the only one that's different but can be modified from a 2011-15.

Oh, and guys be SURE when ever you replace your stock hardware with titanium ALWAYS use blue loctite!! Even though most have the nylon nuts. It helps prevent galling of the threads.

Thankyou all for the pics, nice thing about Ti. is it will never rust! Dan, I was wondering if you heat it up good and hot and let exposed to air if you could get Alpha case to develop? Basically C90 hardness a couple thou deep. Thanks again Mike

Not sure mike. I would think that would lead to failure in different areas but again I honestly can't answer that one. It would be worth looking into. So far the feedback on these have been positive on how they wear, of coarse all that depends on how a guy uses his sled in general.

For some of Dan's Ti skid components I installed:

- Ti Front Torque Arm with bushings, Ti hardware including shock bolts: 3lb 7.8oz (stock front torque arm with bushings and all attached hardware 5lb 8.5oz) -32.7oz

- Ti Rear Torque Arm with bushings, Ti hardware including shock bolts: 3lb 0.7oz (stock rear torque arm with bushings and all attached hardware 5lb 12.6oz) -43.9oz

- Ti shock rod with bushings and hardware: 4.6oz (stock shock rod with bushings and hardware 10.3oz) -5.7oz

These three skid pieces saved me 5lb 2.3oz. Add that to my front arms and bolt kit I am down 11lb 5.8oz before a can!

Again, weighed off a kitchen scale, take it as you may. Although both Ti/stock were greased and weighed as found for assembly, grease should be taken in to consideration as Dan's stuff isn't zerked and wouldn't quite be 'flooded' like the stock arms.
